Give your body a boost

Why vitamin injections?

Many aches and pains, and your wellbeing in general, can be improved with vitamins and minerals.

Injections are not right for everyone, or not available for every supplement. However, we are often asked if vitamins work? Or told that supplements don’t seem to be making a difference. Various reasons for this include the quality of the supplement, the dosage and the form of administration, because it can impact on how much your body can absorb, and as a result, on effectiveness of the supplements taken. The absorption rates of vitamins and minerals in different forms can vary widely, but the below ranges give a notion of the efficiency of various forms :

Tablets

Learn More
Absorption rate can range from 10% to 30%. This lower percentage is due to the need for the tablet to dissolve and the potential impact of digestive factors.

Oral Drops
(Sublingual or Liquid)

Learn More
Absorption rate can be approximately 30% to 50%, especially for sublingual drops, which enter the bloodstream more directly through the mucous membranes.

Injectable Forms

Learn More
Absorption rate is generally around 90% to 100% because these nutrients bypass the digestive system and enter the bloodstream directly.

If you have a condition such as coeliac, or osteoporosis, have had a bowel operation, or are deficient in say, vitamin B12 due to medication taken or being vegan, an injection would be better as more would be absorbed faster. If you are forgetful, or struggling to swallow pills, feeling drained, occasionally dizzy with brain fog or muddled thinking, an injectable dose of vitamin B3 or glutathione may be a good option for you.

It is challenging to get vitamin injections on the NHS, or the frequency is sub-optimal and does not meet the needs of the patient. If you are lucky enough to have a surgery offering you B12 injections, you might find that three months is too long between injections. Other vitamins may not be available on the NHS, or not in an injectable form.

Ariana is accredited and insured to perform vitamin injections. It is often possible to administer the injection during your osteopathic or Functional Medicine appointment, and you don’t need to book go anywhere else to have a little pick-me up, which is highly convenient and saves you time
